SER launches new Seed Information Database with the International Network for Seed-based Restoration

The Society for Ecological Restoration and its International Network for Seed-based Restoration (INSR) are thrilled to unveil the new Seed Information Database (SID). SID provides user-friendly access to essential information on seed weight, storage behavior, germination requirements, and other traits. The redesigned interface improves search functionality and ease of access to the records, giving higher visibility to the seed calculators; a series of tools that allow to calculate seed moisture content and predict seed viability in storage. Learn more

In this webinar, participants will learn about the history of SID, explore updates to the interface with the SER/INSR relaunch, and view the new seed calculators.

Speakers:  Simone Pedrini, Curtin University; John B. Dickie, Royal Botanic Gardens KEW; Fiona Hay, Department of Agroecology at Aarhus University; Chid Gilovitz, Consultant; and Robert Turner, Royal Botanic Gardens KEW
