About the IN-SER Ambassador Program

ambassador program

INSR Ambassadors are SER & INSR Members in good standing who want to be more involved in INSR but in a more “casual” and less “committed” way than as a board member. Ambassadors are individuals who work or volunteer in the field of seed biology, ecological restoration, plant conservation, land management, etc. and help promote the work of INSR within their region, share best practices, transfer knowledge, connect stakeholders, and increase SER/INSR membership.

Expectations of an Ambassador:

  • Have a good understanding of what INSR is and does, its mission, activities, board, and website, and a background in aspects of seed-based restoration;

  • Represent and promote INSR at relevant events, using the materials (e.g., slides, brochures, poster, etc.) created and shared by the INSR Board;

  • Direct interested stakeholders towards relevant resources, such as INSR and SER email address and website, international standards and best practices documents, etc.;

  • Attend the yearly INSR business meeting and give a brief update about activities performed or relevant news/events from their region;

  • Connect INSR and regional restoration networks;

  • Help the Board to find relevant stories to share as social media posts, blog articles, or through INSR Newsletter;

  • Help the Board identify contributors and speakers for symposia and publications, and nominees for INSR elections.

An individual or professional might express interest in becoming an Ambassador by sending their resume and a motivation letter to info@ser-insr.org. The materials received will be periodically reviewed by the INSR Board who will contact the individual at the earliest convenience to share the outcome. The expression of interest will be reviewed against the individual’s professional experience, interests, and involvement in the local restoration community.
