Course description:
This workshop looks at the practical methods and thinking behind the creation of flower-rich dry grasslands (including chalk grassland) as practised at Abbey Farm, in west Norfolk. This involves hand-collecting seed from local sites to create a seed mix with up to 85 species. Species selection, seed collecting, processing, storage and sowing will be covered, as well as collecting guidelines and working with local plant experts. The methods are suitable for small and farm-scale sites
